18 Days: Springloaded!!!

The flying Aussie!

Kylie has springs for legs.  I’m always in awe of how high she manages to launch herself up vertically into the air from a standstill.  When she gets really excited, she won’t jump on you – she’ll leap up directly in front of you over and over and over again, barking like she won the freaking lottery (Kylie, if you manage to actually win the lottery, remember who feeds you.).  Kylie loves getting big air and she loves her frisbee, so we’re attempting to start laying down a disc dog routine.  I don’t know how far we’ll actually get (unfortunately the person that throws the frisbees has about a 15% throwing accuracy …) but we’ll have fun trying!

Alligator jaws.

  1. Wow Kylie is a super jumper! What great pictures of her in mid-air! Best of luck with your disc routine, I’m sure Kylie will do you proud. 🙂

  2. What a doggie athlete! I love how your dogs are so packed full of energy. Oscar’s the complete opposite: He’s laid-back and lazy. 😀

    • Diesel and Kylie are definitely energetic but Bailey and Evee are both pretty laid-back and lazy, except for when we are actually practicing agility (then they are perky and active!). 🙂

  3. Whoa – Kylie can jump high! Gus’s vertical is about two inches. 🙂

He has a flippy flop too, but it generally just hits him in the face when we throw it. Maybe Kylie could give him some lessons? 😀

  4. Wow, she can jump really high. If she is 85% accurate at catching then you guys should never miss 🙂

  5. Those are great pictures of Kylie and her high jump. She really gets some air under her!

  6. Great photos! Kylie looks like she’s about to jump over the house in that last one 🙂
George is Mr. Springy Legs, too, and never ceases to amaze us with his physical abilities. When he was a puppy (i.e. very excitable) he used to jump over the sofa. I’m really happy he’s stopped that (I was worried sick about his legs).
Kylie seems to love her frisbee. Does she also bring it back or is it all about the chase?

    • Whippets are so incredibly athletic – my friend has one and it’s just breathtaking to see that dog run so effortlessly! I bet George is quite the athlete as well 🙂

And thank you! It’s hard to take pictures with my simple camera when the dogs are moving so quickly – lots of misses but it’s neat to see the ones that do come out. Both Kylie and Diesel love their frisbees more than any other toy. Diesel is very good about bringing it back (he’ll actually drop it at your feet) but Kylie likes to “kill it” and teach it a lesson before she brings it back 😛
