34 Days: If you’re not first, you’re last.

Go, go, go!

Bailey LOVES to be chased.  He pretty much thinks it’s the greatest game ever.  It doesn’t matter who is chasing him or whether or not they can actually keep up – he just loves it!  Sometimes Bailey gets so wrapped up in the chase that he doesn’t realize that the dog(s) chasing him has stopped … that is exactly what had happened when I took this picture.  I shot this at a local park that we love to go to – it has over 180 open acres of outdoor fun, from tall grassy fields to inviting streams to forested paths.  The dogs act like it is canine heaven on earth and it gives them plenty of room to stretch their legs, pounce on each other unexpectedly (Diesel and Kylie in particular will stalk each other from behind the tall grasses), and of course, play tag.  Which leads me to the title – “If you’re not first, you’re last.”  (If you’ve never heard that quote before, you need to drop everything and go rent and watch said movie immediately.)  Anyway, Bailey definitely lives by this motto.  Even when everyone else has stopped running the race, he keeps going to make sure that he has not only finished, but won by a longshot.  I think that Bailey has a good perspective on life – don’t look back, give everything your all, and play to win.

  1. We should all embrace
    Bailey’s life philosophy.

  2. That looks like a great place to bring the dogs. Wonderful action shot which also captures the beauty of the scenery 🙂

    • Thank you, Kristen! That means a lot coming from you. I am currently saving up for a DSLR – right now my only camera is a simple point-and-shoot. And it is definitely a fun place to take your dog as long as your dog has a reliable recall off-leash.
